Join this Business of Brain Injury webinar as Abby Bogaards, MHA, Gail McGaughy, PT, C/NDT, CLT, CBIS, and Tammy Miller, COTA/L, MHS, CBIST, CCM from On With Life share their perspectives developing and promoting a new post-COVID rehabilitation program. The session will cover the organization’s decision to offer a specific program for individuals who are experiencing post-COVID symptoms, considerations for program promotion, an overview of service delivery, and lessons learned since the program began.

Speaker Bio:

Abby Bogaards has spent her career in healthcare marketing, working the last six years as the PR + Brand Manager at On With Life. Her expertise lies in branding, social media, media relations, and storytelling. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Ankeny Community School Foundation and as Vice President of the Parent Teacher Fellowship at Ankeny Christian Academy. Abby holds a masters’ degree in healthcare administration from Des Moines University and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Calvin University and is a graduate of the Ankeny Leadership Institute and the Iowa Hospital Association Leadership Program. 

Gail McGaughy has been a Physical Therapist for 22 years with emphasis and specialty in neurological disorders. Gail worked in Inpatient Rehab for 15 years and Outpatient Neuro Rehab at On With Life since 2012. As a certified LSVT BIG provider, member of the Parkinson’s Committee at On With Life, and board member for the Iowa Chapter of APDA, Gail has a keen interest in the treatment and wellbeing of Parkinson’s patients through the lifespan from early diagnosis to end-stage Parkinson’s. Gail and the staff have committed their time, energy, and efforts to be the provider of choice for persons with PD and their care-partners. Gail is also certified in Neuro-Developmental Treatment (NDT), Lymphedema Treatment (CLT), and Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS). Gail has also provided various lectures and CEU opportunities in NDT for Adult Hemiplegia in IA, IL and WI.

Tammy Miller has worked at On With life for 17 years and is entering her 23rd year as a certified occupational therapy assistant. She obtained her Masters in Health Science with an Emphasis in Leadership in 2018. While at On With Life Tammy has had the opportunity to work in the inpatient rehabilitation program as a certified occupational therapy assistant, in the case management department as the admission coordinator and is currently heading the outpatient program as the director of outpatient for both Ankeny and Coralville locations. She has additional certifications as a Certified Brain Injury Specialist Trainer and Certified Case Manager and is CARF surveyor.

Registration cancellations must be emailed to customerservice@biausa.org. Refund Eligibility: Webinar registration fees are refundable if submitted no later than 24 hours before the scheduled webinar date/start time. Refunds are subject to a $10 cancellation fee. Cancellations received less than 24 hours before the scheduled webinar date/start time will not be refunded. If you are unable to attend the live webinar, you can request access to the recorded webinar. If we cancel a webinar due to circumstances beyond our control, we will notify attendees with as much advance notice as possible. Attendees will be given the opportunity to transfer their registration to another webinar or obtain a full refund.

Refunds are Not Provided for the Following Reasons: 1. Attendee Technology. It is the responsibility of the webinar attendee to test the computer setup prior to the start of the webinar. If failure with your technology prevents access to the live webinar, you will not be eligible for a refund. If the technical problem is due to our error, we will offer you the choice of access to a copy of the recording or a full refund. 2. Attendee Email. Refunds will not be issued in cases where an attendee did not receive the webinar login instruction email. It is the attendee’s responsibility to contact us if they don’t receive the required login information at least 24 hours prior to the start time of the webinar. 3. Attendee Absence. Attendees who do not participate in the live webinar will not be entitled to a refund.
