In this webinar Mitchell Rosenthal Memorial Research webinar Tess S. Simpson, Ph.D. and Kelly A. McNally, Ph.D., ABPP-CN describe a manualized, brief cognitive behavioral intervention program for children and adolescents with persistent post-concussive symptoms. They also discuss treatment content and application details. Pilot data is presented, suggesting this is a feasible intervention that may reduce self- and parent-reported symptoms as well as increase health-related quality of life.

Speaker Bios:

Dr. Tess S. Simpson is an Assistant Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. She is a pediatric rehabilitation psychologist who provides outpatient behavioral health services to patients with acute and/or chronic medical conditions and consultation/intervention services in a multidisciplinary spina bifida/spinal cord injury clinic. Dr. Simpson’s clinical and research interests include treatment intervention for youth with persistent post-concussive symptoms following mild TBI and evaluation/intervention for youth with spina bifida.

Dr. Kelly A. McNally is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at Nationwide Children's Hospital and The Ohio State University. She is a board certified clinical neuropsychologist with subspecialty certification in pediatric neuropsychology. She is the co-director of the Complex Concussion Clinic and the Neuropsychology Fellowship Program at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Her clinical and research interests are in the areas of pediatric concussion/TBI and epilepsy neuropsychological assessment and intervention.
