Concussion is a complicated injury that can result in multi-system impairments and can often be challenging to identify. The recommendations in this population are continuously evolving based on ever-changing evidence and therefore can be difficult to keep up with. In this Robert Sbordone Memorial mTBI/Concussion webinar, Cristin Beazley, PT, DPT will discuss the latest evidence-based recommendations for management of concussion and concussion-related injuries across populations and rehab settings.

 

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify the most common symptomatology as well as noted impairments after a concussive event.
  • Discuss when it is appropriate to refer to interdisciplinary team members for concussion management.
  • Provide a high-level overview of the current state of the evidence related to the various areas of concussion management.

Speaker Bio

Cristin Beazley, PT, DPT graduated in 2006 with her Doctor of Physical Therapy from the VCU Physical Therapy Program in Richmond, VA.  She has worked for the last 18 years with emphasis on outpatient Pediatrics and Neurologic Physical Therapy with a specific focus on concussion management over the last 13 years.  She serves as the Manager of Clinical Science at Sheltering Arms Institute. Cristin is an instructor for Summit Education, teaching other therapists about concussion management. She has presented both symposiums and posters at several nationally based conferences as well as webinars related to concussion intervention and management.
